Our conversation sitting at the breakfast table this morning:
Miles (pointing to a picture of a farmer and a cow on the milk carton): This is not real life.
Me: Yes, that's right. This is just a picture.
Miles (smiling): Real life on t.v.
Me (laughing, but in disbelief - the kid doesn't really watch that much t.v.): No, real life is you and me sitting here right now at this table having breakfast. You and I are real, what happens on t.v. is not real.
Miles considers this for a moment, laughs and continues to eat his cereal.
