Safe Mama

A few family members and colleagues have sent me some of the recent articles about studies looking at the potential risks of exposure to bisphenol-A (BPA). BPA is in many plastics, including baby bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers and teethers. Although the scientific jury is still out on whether or not continuous exposure to BPA is harmful enough to worry about using products that contain BPA, I chose to go the safe route. There are products available that are BPA-free. David and I went to Babies R Us last night and bought BPA-free bottles (made by Born Free - see photo above) and pacifiers (all Gerber Nuks are safe). For a list of BPA-free products, the Safe Mama web site is a great resource: http://safemama.com/
