Our little girl is 6 months old. I find myself wanting time to slow down, wishing that she would stay a baby for a while longer. I'm not paying much attention to milestones as markers of time or development, but rather enjoying whatever she's doing at that moment for what it is. Slow to introduce solids, in no hurry to see her sit on her own or start creeping.
And then she goes and makes facial expressions like these...
And I can't help but feel an overwhelming urge to laugh and cuddle her at the same time.
I was out for breakfast the other day with the kids and my mom and it suddenly became very clear to me that everything in my life right now revolves around these two kiddos. I'm probably not the most exciting person to invite to a dinner party these days, unless you want to hear about diaper rash or the latest funny thing that Miles said or did. This blog reflects that, focusing only on our roles as parents. Despite this, I have made a promise to myself to document Lydia's first two years, even if it's just so I have the material to make a baby book like I did for Miles. And I hope that our family living far away enjoys seeing photos of Miles and Lydia as they grow.

I love her!! What adorable expressions! She is so precious. I only wish I could squeeze her in person! She is delicious. Anyway, life with 2 kids can be an adjustment but they sure do make the world go round don't they? I love the pictures you post- and you're doing mighty fine with the camera!
